James R. (Skip) Gregory, NCARB

Skip Gregory dedicated his career to serving the people of the State of Florida as an innovator in the application of health care facility codes and standards. Mr. Gregory has served on numerous national standards-writing committees, where he continues to lead change to improve the physical environment of health and residential care facilities.

Mr. Gregory joined the Health Guidelines Revision Committee in 1992, bringing with him a passion for developing and structuring the Guidelines to help transform the health care physical environment based on person-centered values and practices. He understands the significant influence design and construction have on health and residential care communities and strives to keep the Guidelines adaptive to changes in practice and technology. Mr. Gregory has been a tireless advocate for the Guidelines and has strived to improve the documents, working to achieve a consistent numbering system, contributing to interpretations, and recommending changes that significantly improve the clarity of Guidelines requirements.
